As many of you may know from today’s news post on https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/come-home-to-lions-arch-in-the-next-update/ specializations are not far off. So here some things that you should know.
A lot of traits will either be getting combined or removed and as obvious as it was stated by Anet dev’s you will be able to max out all three lines. We also know that such stats that were a part of the current trait lines will be put into gear as well as base character stats. So now that the general summary is over lets get into the nitty gritty of what you really need to know.
First let’s start with a useful tool that will help you create your build type ahead of time. This tool is called the Specialization Calculator, which will help you plan out your “new” build ahead of time. No this calculator is not built into the game, but rather is located on the dulfy website, which I would hope people are familiar with. Here is the link to the calculator as follows: Most Current Up to date calc for the Specialization system
Now note when you look at the calculator you will see, as stated before, that a lot of traits were either combined or some were removed because they were deemed not necessary nor effective. For mesmer’s you’re going to notice a lot of changes to your traits and how they work and what stats they effect. Rangers you’re going to notice that your builds will definitely change. If you’re a power ranger have a lot more damage output. Elementalists finding themselves in a boon build will find themselves with boons galore with the upcoming changes. Guardians will find that they can do decent condi damage, which of course is in the line to induce burns in people, while also having the power and bunker they want. Necros as always will either be able to go between their typical minion mancer, power mancer, or condi builds or if you’re a hybrid power/condi.
Thiefs are still more effective with full zerker over anything else. Especially with what their doing with your traits, just take a look at the specialization calculator and you will see what I am referring to. Not much is changing with the warriors, they’ll still be able to be as tanky and bursty as they want to be.
Remember these changes are coming soon enough and with them armor stats along with base player stats will be getting increased. Some traits will be combined and some will disappear forever. Remember we asked for this change so we no longer would be bound by the stats on the trait lines that bind us now. However they have yet to say what currency will replace the current trait points, so till then stay classy DH and get ready for some big changes to the builds we use now.
